This is a short video clip of me playing Adventure on the Atari 2600 VCS retro video games console.

Released by Atari in 1979 and widely considered to be the first ever action/adventure game. Coder, Warren Robinett included the first know "easter egg" in the game - secret, hidden text, crediting Robinettf as the programmer, as Atari at that time didn't credit their coders.
Adventure's extremely primitive graphics and sound belie what is in truth a very deep and utterly enjoyable game.

Get the golden chalice to the golden castle, utilising various tools such as magnets, bridges, keys, swords etc. Search mazes, avoid or kill dragons, get completely lost and probably eaten.... it's a completely enthralling experience, demonstrating superbly that graphics really aren't everything.

If I was only allowed to own one Atari game (though goodness knows why that would be), it would be this one.

This and the other retro gaming clips on this site aren't intended as full game reviews, but are simply to give viewers who weren't around when these games were popular, an idea of what video games used to be like.
