This is a short video clip of me playing Battlezone on the Atari 2600 VCS retro video games console.

Atari's Battlezone in the arcades was a 3D tank simulator featuring some funky wireframe vector graphics. The result was so impressive that the US military actually commissioned Atari to produce an evaluation version for possible military training purposes.

The Atari 2600 version was obviously nowhere near as advanced, and as you can see from the video, lost both the wireframe vector graphics, and the obstacles which were an integral part of the gameplay. Even so, this version remains eminently playable, and I wasted many an afternoon on it.

This and the other retro gaming clips on this site aren't intended as full game reviews, but are simply to give viewers who weren't around when these games were popular, an idea of what video games used to be like.
