This is a short video clip of me playing Donkey Kong on the Atari 2600 VCS retro video games console.

The first game designed by one Shigeru Miyamoto for Nintendo, Donkey Kong was a major arcade hit, kickstarted the whole platform genre, and the long career of a certain Italian plumber. (Did you know that in Donkey Kong, Mario was called Jumpman, and was a carpenter?)

The Atari 2600 version is, to be completely honest, fairly awful. It was converted for the Atari by Coleco, who just by chance, featured Donkey Kong as the bundled game with their own competing Colecovision games system. Any guesses as to why the Atari version was so poor?

This and the other retro gaming clips on this site aren't intended as full game reviews, but are simply to give viewers who weren't around when these games were popular, an idea of what video games used to be like.
