Galaxian on Atari 2600 VCS
This is a short video clip of me playing Galaxian on the Atari 2600 VCS retro video games console.
Galaxian was the next step in video games after the seminal Space Invaders. Featuring full colour graphics, (as opposed to colour being simulated by coloured strips across the screen) and more complex game play, with diving formations of aliens. Galaxian was a very challenging game.
The Atari 2600 version is really more of a tribute to the arcade original, than a proper conversion, being neither as colourful, nor featuring the same attack patterns. It is though, a very enjoyable game for its era, and one I personally clocked more than once.
This and the other retro gaming clips on this site aren't intended as full game reviews, but are simply to give viewers who weren't around when these games were popular, an idea of what video games used to be like.
