This is a short video clip of me playing Stargate, aka Defender II, on the Atari 2600 VCS retro video games console.

Released in 1984, a hugely superior game to the Atari 2600 conversion of the original Defender, Stargate, aka Defender II, is an Atari masterpiece.

Something I learned after recording this video is that controls for teleport, smart-bombs and shields are assigned to the second joystick, so no fumbled compromises have been made, as was done with the original Defender.

This and the other retro gaming clips on this site aren't intended as full game reviews, but are simply to give viewers who weren't around when these games were popular, an idea of what video games used to be like.
